Senior Structural Design Engineer/ Director Opportunity

Position: Senior Structural Design Engineer
Location: Hamilton, Waikato
Role Type: Full time, Permanent
Date: September 2019

You will be that keen Senior Engineer, with internal drive to be the best and excited about joining our strong Hamilton practice. Stiles and Hooker is both an Architect and Engineering practice, with a focus on Industrial and Commercial work including being New Zealand’s leading Industrial / Food process facility design team.

This role involves:
• Engineering design for building projects including calculations, sketches, preliminary schemes, etc. the communication of this information to the draughting team and checking the drawings for technical adequacy
• Supporting growth of Engineering Design team
• Co-operating with draught persons, other engineers/ architects in order to produce the most suitable design
• Overseeing construction contracts, specification writing, prepare contract documentation and checking finished structural drawings
• Client liaison and building strong relationships with our key stakeholders

You will have the following:
• BE Civil (NZ Engineering degree)
• CPEng
• Experience in report writing, proposal writing and pricing projects
• Excellent communication skills. Fluent in both written and spoken English
• You must have a good knowledge of NZ building codes and construction
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
• NZ Drivers licence
